TS3 Trouble

Hello guys,

Its been a while since I have used TS. That being said the problem Im having is I log in and within 5-10 sec. it disconnects not quite sure what Im doing wrong any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Sparky

Hey Sparky,

So you are getting into the Nak ts server? If so, is there an error that it is giving you when your getting disconnected(typically in red text at the bottom) such as connection lost or something like that.

Sparky

Just to rule out a file corruption of some sort, have you tried to uninstall Teamspeak and reinstall it in order to find out if it’s perhaps client side?

Yes, downloaded the first time from the ts3 site and the next from here. I have used it before without any problems it seems like I’m missing something. I’ll give it another go with an uninstall and reload maybe get lucky.

Sparky

No luck still doing the same thing :unamused:

How does it behave with other ts servers?

I believe there’s a test server at voice.teamspeak.com:9987

It looks like you’re using the 64bit binaries, maybe try the 32bit ones?

Do you have logs that include the connection tear down/disconnect?

Please match your TeamSpeak nickname to your in game name.
This is what it saying in pink. I uninstalled ts3 went through all the drives and deleted anything I found then tried the 32bit install and still the same thing.
It did say the same thing with the 64bit also. They are matching as far as I can tell. Tried to get into another server and it did the same thing so its something I’m missing
What logs are you talking about, I can find them and show you if it will help.
I do appreciate your help Sny it’s prob something real simple I will keep trying

Thanks Sparky

Could you try just any name like apple or something, I wonder if the server is having issues with your name, I can’t remember if other people have an “_” in their names, they probably do but the server might be having trouble with yours for some reason or another. If you change your name for the TS sign in and then join maybe that would work?

Thanks Alpha tried with the underscore removed and with a different name. I think its just standard and comes up when you connect check yours next time your in it should be right at the top in bold pink letters.

Thanks again sometimes being technologically challenged bites

Sparky

I would be interested in seeing what the message is given for you leaving on server side. If you catch me in game, or vice versa invite me to a squad and then when you join the TS I can read what the message is when you get disconnected. Hopefully it will be informative in this situation, although it might not be, but it could help us to determine whether it is client or server side.

Thanks Alpha will be looking for you in game. Below is what I copied from the chat window it connects then discos then fails to reconnect

Please read the welcome message in the server chat window.
By joining our server you agree you may be recorded

In teamspeak go to tools, Client Logs (I think control-L will work also).

Make sure all 5 switches are on (critical, errors, warnings, info, debug) and then connect to ts3.naksquad.net (you can leave the log window open while you do this.)

Let it try and fail a couple times, then on the log window press mark… then copy all of the text in there.

open a browser and go to pastebin.com and paste it in the new paste window and click “Create new paste”

Then copy that URL to here (something that looks like https://pastebin.com/abcDEFG)

Might give us a clue if there’s a ts3 related issue.

That said, the message “Please match your TeamSpeak nickname to your in game name.” doesn’t sound like a teamspeak error.

While you’re in the Lobby, in-game type a message in side chat, “Admin, requesting permissions for teamspeak” and if there’s an admin available they will add your initial permissions so you can change channels. Once you get an admin to grant permissions, jump in a help room and ask them about this error. If you can’t stay connected long, maybe send them a direct message in ts.

There some more info on the FAQ (last question has a guide for TS3). https://www.naksquad.net/information/faqs/

Hopefully I got it right. When I connect to the server the first time it connects for it to connect again I have to shut it down and start new. Also I was wondering is there a setting on my router thats messing it up?

Thanks
Sparky

Okay, I’m seeing 2 types of disconnects here…
3/29/2022 13:38:38 ClientUI Info Connect status: Connected
3/29/2022 13:38:38 ClientUI Info Connect status: Establishing connection

3/29/2022 13:39:03 ClientUI Info Connect status: Disconnected

This one succeeded in connecting but the client was disconnected due to dropped packets (excessive resends)

3/29/2022 13:39:31 ClientUI Info Connect status: Connecting
3/29/2022 13:39:32 PktHandler Devel Puzzle solve time: 4

3/29/2022 13:39:41 ClientUI Info Connect status: Disconnected

This one failed to connect in the first place due to the same reason.

If you’re not experiencing any other kind of network issues I would lean towards anti-virus or firewall related issues.

You can try temporarily disabling either and see if it behaves better.

If not you might need to start digging into internet related issues. ddos attacks are a common cause with hosted services, connections from one part of the world might be impacted more than the rest., etc.

I disco’ed the anti-virus and firewall and there was no change. When I turned it back on that was fun it got me kicked from the server for a 144 sec. still scratching my head on that one I remember I had to do something to the router but I think that was to host not sure,
Will keep trying

Thanks for the help

Sparky

Probably not something you need to change on your router.

This is somewhat of a longshot but…

Grab this tool, winMTR from https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/files/latest/download

unzip it and run the 64-bit version.

In the host field put ts3.naksquad.net and click start.

Log into teamspeak and leave winmtr running.

You’ll see some messages saying no response from host or other events. It’s not necessarily a problem.

After a few minutes press Stop in winmtr and click Copy text to clipboard and dump that here… but before you send it to the forum, select the entire thing and press the shield button in the forum editor window… looks like this:

That’ll hide your IP from non-forum members. Alternately send it to me in a private message if you want to be extra safe.

From this we might be able to tell if there’s any potential problem spots between your system and the teamspeak server. The days of ping as a diagnostic tool are numbered, but maybe… maybe.

Still guessing this is something simple tho…

Sny do you know if the nak servers version is it Client 3.1.0 because I found this.
I am running the 64bit version

Until Client 3.1.0
In previous versions of the TeamSpeak 3 Client (up to 3.0.19.4 inclusive) when attempting a connection to a server at four.three.two.one.example.com the client did the following:

Since Client 3.0.8:

Resolve _ts3._udp.four.three.two.one.example.com IN SRV
Resolve _tsdns._tcp.two.one.example.com IN SRV
Resolve _tsdns._tcp.one.example.com IN SRV
Resolve _tsdns._tcp.example.com IN SRV
always

Resolve four.three.two.one.example.com IN A
Attempt to connect to two.one.example.com:41144
Attempt to connect to one.example.com:41144
Attempt to connect to example.com:41144
The connection attempts to 41144 are TSDNS resolution attempts. The first connection attempt that is accepted and responds is used as a result

Since Client 3.1.0
Starting with the 3.1.0 release of the client, we deprecated the connection attempts to port 41144, but instead rely on SRV records to tell the client on where to find a TSDNS server. If none is specified, future client versions will not attempt to connect to TSDNS servers and won’t ask them for an IP address for the address we’re attempting to connect to.
So the client will do the following in above scenario:

Resolve _ts3._udp.four.three.two.one.example.com IN SRV
Resolve _tsdns.tcp.example.com IN SRV
Resolve four.three.two.one.example.com IN AAAA
Resolve four.three.two.one.example.com IN A
In order to enable a graceful transition for our hosters and users, the 3.1.0 release of the client will still perform the following connection attempts if the _tsdns._tcp SRV resolve failed or returned no data:

Attempt to connect to one.example.com:41144
Attempt to connect to example.com:41144
However a warning will be raised and printed to the log, informing users that the server they’re connecting to is using a deprecated setup and will no longer work with the next client release.

With a future Client release
It behaves like 3.1.0 does with the exception that unless the _tsdns._tcp SRV resolve returns a result, no TSDNS server is contacted and the _ts3._udp SRV, AAAA or A record resolves are used to connect.

Be nice if it was this simple,

Will try what you Sny and Thank you again!

Sparky

Never mind the last question Sny I finally got it to work had to disable the UDP in the Network Adapter.

Thanks guys appreciate all the help!

Sparky

Very cool. Could you elaborate on disabling UDP a little (or a link to where you found this)?

Just in case someone else has this issue and happens to wander into this thread.
