Guide Purpose:

The purpose of this guide is to educate individual soldiers to alleviate issues regarding positioning and to coordinate effective fire of a fire team and squad. The information contained in this guide is used by and developed from standards created by the U.S. Army and utilized by NATO forces in the training of real life soldiers in adherence to TRADOC (US Army Training and Doctrine Command). The training therein is unclassified and approved for civilian consumption and distribution.

This guide is not to be taken as a seriously to be followed word for word guide. Its purpose is merely to educate on real life doctrine and to help in being a more effective player. In real life, your team leader won’t measure the distance between soldiers to ensure that they’re precisely what doctrine defines. That being said, spacing is a critical concern when the effective kill range of a hand grenade is 10 meters (30 feet) and the wound radius is 20 meters (60 feet). Keeping these concerns in the back of your mind will help you to be a more effective soldier and leader in directing soldiers towards an objective.


Assumptions:

This guide assumes that the reader is already familiar with the structure of a fire team, squad, and platoon. The reader is expected to know the roles of soldiers that comprise a fire team, their respective loadouts, and responsibilities as a member of a fire team.




Introduction

Familiarizing yourself with how a squad and team should move while in a combat patrol environment will help you as a soldier in effectively directing yourself and others. How a squad maneuvers could be the difference between life or death and as such can be an important factor when playing with players. It will also help to alleviate any anger that may come from your fellow soldiers or leadership when dealing with exact issues from.
